    Job Summary

    This role will be on-site in Mesquite, TX. This is not a hybrid or remote position. Prepares, documents and disburses payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments | Evaluates current systems, and recommends and develops operating efficiency improvements | Monitors and ensures proper documentation of employee benefit payments | Prepares reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements

    • Requires working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience
    • Identifies the problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions
    • Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision
    • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

    Essential Functions

    • Assists with duties and tasks associated with payroll.
    • Uses payroll software, inputs payroll data, and prepares payroll checks.
    • Processes irregular payments such as bonuses.
    • Answers employee questions related to payroll and resolves issues.
    • May maintain vacation and personal time records.
    • Helps to ensure payroll practices meet government compliance.
      • Required Qualifications

        • Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
        • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

        Preferred Qualifications

        • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
        • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and Written Communication Skills. Detail Oriented. Ability to Meet Deadlines. Data Entry-Keyboarding. Data QA. Direct Deposit Administration. Inquiry Research/Response. Paid Time Off Tracking. Paycheck Distribution. Payroll Reconciliation. Payroll Tax Deposits. Payroll Tax Reporting. Timesheet Auditing. Payroll Software.

        Physical Requirements

        • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
        • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

        Travel Requirements

        No or very little travel likely.
