Job Description Summary

The Senior Cost Analyst plays a critical role in building and maintaining robust costing processes supporting GE Aerospace supply chain operations. In this role, the Senior Cost Analyst partners with Finance, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to streamline part cost accumulation and reporting. The role ensures timely, accurate, and complete cost flow and insights to support inventory valuation, operational performance reporting, and effective decision-making for assigned shops.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Review and oversee shop-level costing activities for assigned supply chain shops to ensure accurate and complete costing in line with inventory costing practices.
• Research inventory valuation swings and cost movements; identify drivers and communicate clear, actionable explanations to impacted finance managers and stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing monthly support to shop finance teams by connecting shop operating results to underlying cost and inventory transactions, answering questions on performance and valuation outcomes, and troubleshooting issues by leveraging strong system knowledge and end-to-end understanding of how data flows through costing and inventory processes.
• Monitor inventory balance activity within the cost management system for issues such as negative inventory values; partner with stakeholders to ensure transactions are properly recorded and resolved.
• Support year-end baseline setting activities for assigned shops, establishing expected part costs used to measure operational performance in the following year.
• Support annual physical inventory processes for assigned shops, including periodic site travel as required.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive issue resolution, improve data quality, and sustain effective standard work around costing processes.
• Maintain documentation, reconciliations, and communications to support consistent execution and audit readiness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) with a strong cost accounting foundation.
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing/supply chain environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical/problem-solving capability.
• Ability to communicate complex costing topics clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle-based ERPs and/or other inventory/costing systems.
• Experience supporting physical inventory, baseline/standard cost setting, and month-end close activities.
