General Kinematics is the premier manufacturer of vibrating equipment for the processing of bulk materials. From vibratory feeders to entire process systems, General Kinematics creates the solutions customers require to process even the most difficult materials. We are seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to support project design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems across industrial and manufacturing facilities.

This role involves hands-on field work, coordination and management of electrical contractors, ensuring all electrical distribution systems are designed and installed to meet project requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes and commissioning.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and manage electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities on site.
    • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, local electrical codes, and safety protocols.
    • Develop, review, and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
    • Oversee and coordinate activities of electrical contractors to ensure conformance with design specifications, safety regulations and schedule.
    • Prepare cost and labor estimates, track project budgets, and forecast resource requirements.
    • Perform field inspections, troubleshoot electrical issues, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Monitor electrical contractor activities, assign tasks, and ensure proper execution.
    • Prepare, review, and submit technical documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
    • Support power distribution design for low-voltage systems (480V and below) and assist with high-voltage systems (up to 13.8kV or higher) as needed.
    • Collaborate with project managers, electrical/controls engineers, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
    • Prepare documentation, including as-builts, load calculations, and equipment submittal reviews.
    • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEC and other relevant electrical and safety codes.
    • Document and report on any safety concerns related to the installation and operation of our equipment.
    • Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
