For our Unit International Facultative we are seeking to appoint a Property Facultative Underwriter / Senior Underwriter (d/f/m) based in our Cologne office starting as soon as possible.
Your Role
As a valued addition to our motivated and experienced facultative underwriting team, you will take on a diverse range of responsibilities:
- Assessing and underwriting risks, with a focus on profitability across Property, Energy, and Engineering lines.
- Structuring and pricing non-proportional reinsurance solutions (excess layers), including the analysis and evaluation of natural catastrophe exposures.
- Developing value-adding concepts for facultative program business.
- Managing key accounts: actively developing and nurturing national and international client relationships at both technical and executive levels.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating primary insurance markets while contributing to strategic portfolio growth initiatives.
- Engaging in technical discussions with clients and presenting at industry events or internal training sessions
Participating in cross-branch projects.
Your Profile
- Degree in insurance, engineering, or a related field; alternatively, relevant vocational training with advanced professional qualifications.
- Experience in underwriting or risk engineering preferred.
- A strong inclination for customer- and team-oriented work, and a willingness to travel.
- Entrepreneurial thinking, team spirit, agility, and openness to new ideas.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
- Fluency in German and/or English with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Confident use of standard MS Office programs, especially Excel.
