A Brief OverviewThe Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on AORN standards of care and professional nursing practice: accountable for outcomes of nursing care delivered.
What you will do- Prepares patients for surgery and addresses their concerns.
- Ensures the operating room is sterile, and secure necessary supplies and instruments for surgery.
- Hands over medical supplies to attending surgeons during operations.
- Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum, and observes patient vital signs.
- Informs attending surgeon of issues and anomalies.
Education Qualifications- Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
- Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred
Experience Qualifications- Previous experience in an acute care critical care setting Preferred
Skills and Abilities- Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
- Knowledge of equipment and appropriate use
- Knowledge and compliance in the Universal Protocol
- Knowledge of proper patient positioning
Licenses and Certifications- Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and recertification every two (2) years Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
