A Brief OverviewThe Registered Nurse - Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.
What you will do- Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations.
- Assist physician in the catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations processes.
- Keep patients calm and relaxed during procedures where they’re required to be awake.
- Administer appropriate medicine when needed.
- Perform proper after procedure care.
- Check vital signs of the patient with proper care.
- Provide education about medications and care to the patients and families before the discharge.
Education Qualifications- Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
- Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred
Experience Qualifications- Critical care experience Preferred
- Previous Interventional Cath Lab nursing Preferred
Skills and Abilities- Ability to work with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation required.
- Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
Licenses and Certifications- Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
