    Who are we looking for?   

    Our Construction Management Group is growing! In response to the steady growth of our team GHD is looking for a Senior Construction Manager with proven on time and budget delivery capabilities.  You will provide GHD’s construction phase support services to new and existing clients on multiple simultaneous projects with a construction value of up to $250M each. This position can be located anywhere in the western US. Projects are anticipated in California between Fresno and northern Los Angeles. GHD has nearby offices in Fresno, San Luis Obispo, and Los Angeles.

    Responsibilities of the position are but are not limited to: 

    • Construction Management: for our environmental construction, site remediation, civil construction, and decommissioning projects with a key oil and gas client in the US West Region. Additional project opportunities exist in water (i.e. pumping stations, pipelines, treatment facilities, etc.), transportation (roads, trails, traffic improvements), as well as coastal, environmental, energy. In addition to leading during construction phase, contributions will include involvement in the planning, permitting, design, and procurement phases. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Construction Manager to be involved in all aspects of project planning and delivery.
    • Construction Project Controls: Develop, deliver, and manage budget plans and schedules for construction projects. Monitor and perform budget progress and post-calculations.
    • Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the design and creation of reporting strategies and templates. Lead execution of complex reports, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends, and translating those insights into actionable recommendations. Communicate directly with client team.
    • Project Development: collaborate with client development team, lead procurement efforts including proposal and interview preparation
    • Construction Advice: Provide specialist professional advice relating to construction regulations and best practice with regard to constructability, cost evaluations, and sequencing for environmental and civil construction projects.
    • Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in a particular area of expertise and to support the practice.
    • Personal Capability Building: Act as subject matter expert in an area of construction management and execution for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
    • Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Analysis: Conduct complex feasibility studies from technological, financial, and organizational perspectives on bid solicitation, including request for proposal (RFP) and request for tender (RFT) project requirements, and review specifications for tenders.
    • Operational Compliance: Monitor and review performance and behaviors within area of responsibility to identify and resolve noncompliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.
    • Client & Customer Management (External): Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and management experience

    Experience

    • Minimum 15 years of experience as Construction Manager and/or Resident Engineer on multiple simultaneous construction projects
    • CCM certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus, although not required
    • Experience with web based document management systems

    Benefits:

    • Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee

    • Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement  program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices

    Salary Range: $97,500.00 - $162,500.00 based on experience and location.
