Starting Salary: $60,000 | Not Productivity-Based
Gibault Children’s Services is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to provide clinical services to youth ages 6-18 at Gibault Outpatient Counseling, located on the perimeter of Gibault Children’s Services Terre Haute Campus. In addition to working with youth and families in an outpatient therapy setting, the position will be cross trained to provide clinical services in residential treatment as well.
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will:
- Provide individual and family therapy to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
- Complete clinical assessments and develop appropriate diagnoses based on presenting needs and established diagnostic criteria.
- Develop and regularly review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with youth and their parents/caregivers.
- Help youth develop health coping, emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, and relationship skills.
- Engage parents and caregivers in treatment and provide education, support, and strategies to reinforce progress outside of therapy.
- Conduct suicide, self-harm, and other risk assessments and develop appropriate safety plans and interventions when needed.
- Collaborate with schools, physicians, psychiatrists, case managers, and other community providers, when appropriate and with proper authorization, to coordinate care.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, treatment reviews, and discharge summaries.
- Make referrals to psychiatric, psychological, medical, social service, or community resources when additional services are needed.
- Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, staff meetings, and continuing education to support professional growth and quality of care.
- Promote a therapeutic environment that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strength-based, and family-centered.

- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field required.
