Position Summary:
The Team Lead will be held responsible for the Safety, Quality and Productivity of their department. Must be willing to arrive 30 minutes before shift start to aid in shift change over and work into following shift on a required basis. Must be willing to work on Fridays when their department is working overtime. They will direct the activities of the workforce and serve as the first line of communication between the Supervisor and the assembly workers. The Team Lead will give input to the supervisor for all department employee reviews.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate department production activities including set-ups per the department schedule
- Accountable for production levels in their perspective area. Report any shortfall & discuss recovery plan with supervisor daily.
- Communicate all production problems to Supervisor.
- Provide corrective safety actions as required & report all safety issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- Perform “informal audits” daily on all employees and products, holding them accountable for quality in their area.
- Determine the source of all quality problems.
- Provide corrective action recommendations to Supervisor, maintenance, or Mfg. Engineering.
- Follow all Safety procedures and guidelines. Ensure that all employees are also following all policies.
- Provide corrective safety actions to Supervisor.
- Clean machines and organized part locations for total area.
- Willingness to work in any position within the department.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates:
- Successfully passed their 90-Day probationary period
- Must have a good attendance record
- Exhibited a good work record and must not currently be on probation or have any outstanding warnings or reprimands
- Must be able to learn and master all positions on the Paint Line
- Good judgement and positive leadership skills
