Job Description Summary

Contribute, implement, and monitor company's health, safety, environmental and energy function to minimize organizational hazards to the environment (across products, equipment and operational processes) and risk to employee health and safety.
Participate in the development and direct related programs, policies and procedures, and ensure a connection between environment, health, safety and energy functions, supervising the joint work to assure compliance with organization and government environment, health, safety and energy standard.

Job Description:

Functional Strategy Formation
Contribute to the formation of one or more elements of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
Health, Safety, and Environment
Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
Regulatory and Compliance Management
Carry out a wide range of compliance monitoring activities and give basic advice on compliance and regulatory requirement Information and Business Advice Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.
Internal Communication
Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.
Business Requirements Identification
Support collection of business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis, to express requirements clearly and succinctly.
Regulation and Registration
Assist with the development of internal communications and work collaboratively with colleagues to build strong understanding of regulation and registration requirements.
Leadership and Direction
Explain the local action plan, to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission, and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
Budgeting
Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues.
Performance Management
Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.
Organizational Capability Building
Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.

Data Collection and Analysis
Works at an intermediate level to determine and analyze trends from data that is collected to assist in compiling reports that will help in decision-making. Typically works with guidance.
Planning and Organizing
Works with full competence to plan, organize, prioritize and oversee activities to efficiently meet objectives. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
Policy and procedures
Works with full competence to monitor, interpret and understand policies and procedures and ensure their alignment with organizational strategies and work objectives. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
Health and Safety
Works with full competence to manage and apply safe systems of work. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
Policy and Regulation
Works with full competence to interpret and apply knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in area of expertise. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
Risk Management
Works with full competence to identify, assess, prioritize and manage risks. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
Verbal Communication
Works with full competence to express ideas, request actions, formulate plans, & policies by means of clear and effective verbal communications. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.

Required Skills and Education

Education:

Relevant degree and/or equivalent experience.

Experience:

5+ years of health and safety experience.

Must be willing to work in a manufacturing/plant for environment.

Experience with OSHA standards required.

1+ years of environmental experience preferred.
