    Male Support Worker – Waking Night

    Learning Disabilities Service – 1:1 Support

    Location: Glenholme Specialist Healthcare – Warwick Manor, Bedford (MK40)
    Applicants must live within a 10-mile radius

    Salary: £12.75 – £12.95 per hour + Paid Training + Fantastic Employee Benefits
    Hours: 40 hours per week
    Shift Pattern: 21:30 – 07:30, Fully Flexible (Waking Night)

    Glenholme Specialist Healthcare is currently recruiting a Male Waking Night Support Worker to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a young man with complex needs at Warwick Manor, Bedford.

    This is not a sleep-in role – this is a fully waking night position where you will provide active, consistent support throughout the shift.

    The individual you will be supporting has complex needs, including behaviours that challenge and self-injurious behaviours, so previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour is essential.

    You will play a vital role in maintaining safety, dignity, and stability throughout the night, as well as supporting morning routines and preparing the individual for college.

    Warwick Manor is a specialist supported living service in Bedford, providing high-quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and complex needs.

    The service provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for individuals who require consistent and specialist support. With 24-hour staffing and a strong, experienced leadership team, Warwick Manor promotes independence while ensuring robust and responsive care.

    Your Role – Waking Night 1:1 Support

    As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will:

    • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the night
    • Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to behaviours that challenge
    • Support with personal care where required
    • Assist with morning routines, including preparing the individual for college
    • Maintain detailed and accurate care records
    • Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure consistency of care
    • Promote dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing

    This is a role for someone who is calm, resilient, observant, proactive, and confident in supporting individuals with complex behaviours.

    What We’re Looking For

    We are looking for someone who has:

    • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours
    • Experience working with complex needs and self-injurious behaviours
    • A calm, confident, and proactive approach
    • Strong communication and documentation skills
    • A commitment to safeguarding and person-centred care
    • The ability to remain focused and responsive throughout a waking night shift

    Important Information

    This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.

    Sponsorship is not available for this position.

    Due to the specific needs of the individual being supported, we can only consider male applicants for this role in line with occupational requirement exemptions under the Equality Act 2010.
