    Job description

    Overview

The International ETF team at GTS is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher to develop the pricing, forecasting, and risk models that power our global trading business.

Our team makes markets and manages risk across equity products spanning dozens of countries, time zones, and currencies. Working closely with traders and quantitative developers, you will build models from first principles, deploy them into production, and measure their impact on live trading.

This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of research direction and help shape how the desk prices securities, manages risk, and identifies opportunities across international markets.

GTS is a collection of financial services companies spanning a wide array of asset classes and investment approaches, all powered by the combination of market expertise with innovative, proprietary technology.  With roots as a quantitative trading firm continually building for the future, the GTS family of companies are able to leverage the latest in artificial intelligence systems and sophisticated pricing models to bring consistency, efficiency, and transparency to today’s financial markets. GTS’s electronic market maker GTS Securities accounts for 3-5% of daily cash equities volume in the U.S. and is a leading Designated Market Maker (DMM) at the New York Stock Exchange, responsible for nearly $13 trillion of market capitalization. For more information on GTS, please visit www.gtsx.com.

    Responsibilities

    • Research and develop quantitative models supporting trading and risk management across international equity and ETF markets.
    • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns and opportunities using statistical and computational techniques.
    • Design rigorous research methods to evaluate new ideas and improve model performance across different market environments.
    • Collaborate with traders and quantitative developers to translate promising research into production systems.
    • Monitor the performance of live models and refine them based on empirical results.
    • Contribute to the desk’s research priorities and promote high standards for research quality, reproducibility, and communication.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of relevant quantitative research or trading experience, ideally in international equities or ETFs.
    • Demonstrated success modeling securities over intraday through multi-day horizons.
    • The ability to build pricing or forecasting frameworks from the ground up.
    • Strong Python skills and experience turning research into reliable production tools.
    • Deep knowledge of global market structure, including trading hours, auctions, currency dynamics, and local market conventions.
    • A strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, and empirical research methods.
    • A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a quantitative discipline.
    • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, communication skills, and a strong bias toward ownership and automation.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with ETF market making or index-rebalance strategies.
    • Familiarity with corporate actions and cross-listed securities, including ADRs and GDRs.
    • Experience modeling or managing overnight and multi-day risk.
    • Familiarity with portfolio construction, transaction costs, and capital constraints.
    • Effective use of AI-assisted development tools—such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot—to accelerate research and development.

We're proud to employ leading talent in the industry and work to ensure our employees enjoy a high quality of life.

Please note: The use of AI tools during interviews is strictly prohibited, unless explicitly agreed upon.
