Position Summary
The Maintenance Helper assists the maintenance team in supporting the safe and efficient operation of a chemical manufacturing facility. This position performs basic maintenance tasks, equipment cleaning, preventative maintenance activities, facility repairs, and general housekeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with repairs and maintenance of production equipment, pumps, motors, mixers, conveyors, piping systems, and facility equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance activities as directed.
- Clean, lubricate, and inspect machinery and equipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Assist with facility maintenance including painting, plumbing repairs, lighting replacement, and basic carpentry work.
- Support installation and relocation of equipment and machinery.
- Follow all plant safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and chemical handling requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Previous manufacturing or maintenance experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb as needed.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
