Residential Kitchen Assistant Work

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Residential Kitchen Assistant will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our clients. The residential cook will also work with the Directors and residential staff to ensure the menus are nourishing for our clients. RESPONSIBILITIES · Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations. · Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc. · Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift. · Preparing meals according to menus. · Cooking in accordance with food health and safety standards. · Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes. · Dressing food and plates for presentation. · Store all food properly. · Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils. · Re-ordering stock and food supplies.

Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, pantries, freezers, and refrigerators PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift. · Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry 25 pounds or less. · Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day. · Ability to handle sharp cooking instruments. · Ability to walk with items in hand, grasp and reach as needed. · Ability to provide first aid as needed.
