Cataldo is the largest private EMS provider and private ambulance service in Massachusetts. In addition to topping 50,000 emergency medical transportations annually through 911 contacts with multiple cities, we partner with some of Massachusetts top medical facilities to provide non-emergency medical ambulance and wheelchair transportation services. We are also an EMS provider to specialty venues like Fenway Park, TD Garden, and DCU Center.

While Cataldo began as an ambulance service company, we continue to grow through innovation and expand the services we offer to the local communities.  As a public health resource, Cataldo offers training and education to the healthcare and emergency medical community through the Cataldo Education Center.  This includes certification training for new employees as well as the training needed for career advancement.  Through our partnerships with health systems, hospitals, managed care organizations, and others, we continue to provide in-home care through the state’s first and largest Mobile Integrated Health program, SmartCare. We also have delivered more than 1.7 million Covid-19 vaccines and continue to operate testing and vaccination sites throughout the state of Massachusetts.

About the Role:

The Driver position is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations within the United States. This role involves operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to deliver materials efficiently while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing routes, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and ensuring compliance with transportation laws. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate diverse routes using maps and GPS technology. Ultimately, the Driver plays a vital role in supporting the supply chain and warehousing operations by facilitating the smooth movement of goods.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
• Proven experience in truck driving with knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
• Strong understanding of transportation management and warehousing processes.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating both dump trucks and box trucks.
• Familiarity with transportation management software.
• Previous experience in warehousing or logistics support roles.
• Additional endorsements on CDL such as hazardous materials or tanker endorsements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles including dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of vehicles.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS to meet delivery schedules.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials when necessary and maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.

Skills:

The required skills such as truck driving and knowledge of DOT regulations are essential for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of commercial vehicles on a daily basis. The ability to operate dump trucks and box trucks allows the driver to handle a variety of cargo types and delivery requirements effectively. Reading maps and using GPS technology are critical for route planning and timely deliveries, minimizing delays and optimizing fuel efficiency. Transportation management skills help the driver coordinate with dispatch and warehouse teams to streamline logistics and maintain accurate records. Preferred skills like familiarity with transportation software and additional CDL endorsements enhance the driver's capability to manage complex deliveries and provide superior service.
