    Job description

    Mission Contribution:

    Drive Goodwill’s mission by fostering relationships with donors and customers and maximizing store operations. Through careful stewardship of donated goods and a commitment to exceptional service, you contribute directly to funding Goodwill’s employment and training programs, helping individuals overcome barriers to employment.

    Primary Function:

    Under the direct supervision of the New Goods Manager, the New Goods Warehouse Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse and the successful fulfillment of customer orders.

    Essential Functions:

    • Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing direction, guidance, and support
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring that each team member understands their role and responsibilities
    • Oversee the receiving, storing, and organizing of retail products in the warehouse
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply
    • Serve as a liaison between warehouse staff, retail management, and other departments within the organization
    • Communicate effectively to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with company objectives
    • Provide regular updates on warehouse performance and operational issues to management
    • Supervise the picking, packing, and shipping of retail products to fulfill store needs
    • Ensure orders are processed accurately and dispatched in a timely manner to meet deadlines
    • Identify opportunities to streamline warehouse processes and improve operational efficiency

    • Maintain a clean and safe work area
    • Follow all safety procedures.

    Requirements:

    Excellent organizational skills
    Report daily and work closely with the New Goods Manager
    Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures
    Able to work with minimum supervision
    Able to work a variety of schedules and special projects
    Able to maintain good relationships with co-workers and management
    Flexible and willing to learn
    Ability to follow written instructions and use tools to assemble products

    Qualifications:

    Some work experience and knowledge merchandising best practices
    High School diploma or equivalent preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear, taste and smell. Most activities involve repetitive upper body movements and bending. The employee must on occasion lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (unless otherwise restricted)
    Must have good hand-eye coordination
    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

    Typical Work Environment:

    While performing this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time but works primarily indoors and/or at facility entrance; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
    Stools or chairs may be provided to allow employees to alternate between sitting and standing while performing their job
    Will possibly be working alongside others with social, mental, and emotional disabilities
