    Job description

    About the Role:

    The Career Advancement Navigator plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals to achieve their professional goals by providing personalized guidance and support throughout their career development journey. This position focuses on assessing clients' skills, interests, and experiences to create tailored advancement plans that align with their aspirations and market opportunities. The Navigator collaborates with educational institutions, employers, and community resources to connect clients with relevant training, certifications, and job openings. By continuously monitoring progress and adapting strategies, the Navigator ensures clients remain motivated and equipped to overcome barriers to career growth. Ultimately, this role contributes to enhancing workforce readiness and long-term employment success for diverse populations across the United States.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Career Counseling, Human Resources, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
    • At least two years of experience in career counseling, workforce development, or a related advisory role.
    • Strong understanding of labor market trends and workforce development resources within the United States.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse client populations.
    • Proficiency in using career assessment tools and case management software.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Counseling, Career Development, or a related discipline.
    • Certification from a recognized career development or counseling organization (e.g., NCC, GCDF).
    • Experience working with underserved or disadvantaged populations to support career advancement.
    • Familiarity with virtual coaching platforms and digital resource management.
    • Bilingual abilities to serve non-English speaking clients effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ career goals, skills, and educational backgrounds to develop individualized advancement plans.
    • Provide one-on-one coaching and counseling to help clients identify opportunities for skill development, certifications, and job placements.
    • Facilitate workshops and informational sessions on resume building, interview techniques, and professional networking.
    • Collaborate with employers, training providers, and community organizations to create pathways for client employment and advancement.
    • Track client progress, maintain detailed records, and adjust career plans as needed to ensure continuous development and success.

    Skills:

    The required skills enable the Career Advancement Navigator to conduct thorough assessments and develop actionable career plans tailored to each client’s unique needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building trust and motivating clients through their career journeys. Proficiency with career assessment tools and case management software facilitates efficient tracking and documentation of client progress. Preferred skills such as certification and bilingual abilities enhance the Navigator’s capacity to serve a broader and more diverse client base. Additionally, familiarity with virtual coaching platforms allows the Navigator to deliver flexible and accessible support in today’s evolving work environment.
