    Minimum qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Law (LL.M) from a Nordic University.
    • Experience building relationships and communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization.
    • Ability to communicate in English and one of the Nordic languages (i.e., Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish or Icelandic) fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience in legal analysis and research.
    • Experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a changing environment.
    • Experience working in a law firm or a media/technology company.
    • Available to start 15 February 2027 for a 12 months fixed-term contract.

    As a Legal Trainee, you will get an insight into a variety of legal issues at Google and YouTube, while promoting the development of internet law in an unconventional environment. In this role, you will get the opportunity to demonstrate that you have sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a changing environment, and can communicate confidently at all levels.

    The Nordic Legal Team manages all things legal in the Nordics, such as product due diligence, local law compliance, customer and user escalations, local regulatory inquiries, civil litigation, cross-functional partnering, crisis and incident management in Sweden, Denmark (incl. Faroe Islands and Greenland), Norway (incl. Svalbard and Jan Mayen), Finland (incl. Åland Islands) and Iceland.

    Responsibilities

    • Respond to various legal requests from users and third parties in relation to Google services, and be the first point of contact for internal teams.
    • Assist the Legal team in the analysis, preparation, or management of court proceedings.
    • Assist in a variety of projects, such as the localization of Google products, marketing assessments, and the review and drafting of agreements.
    • Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, marketing law, data protection, AI, etc.).
    • Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team. Use internal AI tools for all of the above.
