The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking an Audit and Compliance Analyst on a <9-month term, to support the Policy Unit in the Provincial Protective Services Branch.
Reporting to the Manager, Operational Policy for PPS Enforcement Support Services, this position is responsible for advancing and supporting the PPS Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) accreditation process to meet the needs of the ministry and the expectations of Saskatchewan residents.
Typically, knowledge obtained for this position would be obtained through a bachelor's degree or diploma in social science, police science, criminal justice, public administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Track, maintain, support, and analyze the compliance and audit program for PPS using CALEA accreditation framework and standards in law enforcement.
- Develop accountability standards and conduct audits to ensure consistency, compliance, and excellence in the integration and application of policy across the Branch.
- Provide CALEA accreditation advice to the Manager, Operational Policy.
- Track, maintain, report, and update CALEA accreditation records for PPS within the PowerDMS database.
- Track and ensure compliance with mandatory reporting to the PPS Commissioner on topics including, but not limited to, Personnel Early Warning System (PEWS), bias-free policing, recruiting, pursuits, use of force, discipline, code of conduct, and public complaints.
- Assign and monitor tasks on PowerDMS and enter proofs for accreditation compliance.
- Prepare and deliver training, including but not limited to, PowerDMS, CALEA accreditation, and policy compliance.
- Identify, assess and report on success measures, indicators, and trends across PPS.
- Consult and engage with various stakeholders, including PPS senior leaders.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with PPS Unit Commanders, teams and PPS members and employees.
- Support internal reporting processes to ensure transparency and accountability to the Government of Saskatchewan and the public.
- Understand government accountability and public expectations.
