The Opportunity:
We are looking for dynamic individuals who are devoted to helping others and improving the lives and well-being of children and families to join our team as Child and Caregiver Support Workers to fill Perm positions in the Prince Albert office and area.
In this position, you will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative, and support services to children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.
You will also:
- Develop and maintain open, honest working relationships and encourage teamwork with clients, foster families, biological families, collateral agencies, and colleagues within the unit and community.
- Identify, and prioritize referrals for service, develop appropriate intervention plans, consult with professionals as needed, and complete documentation in accordance with professional practice standards.
- Apply knowledge of multicultural beliefs and values, with particular emphasis on First Nations and Métis perspectives.
- Apply understanding of poverty, systemic barriers, and socio‑economic issues and their impact on individuals and families.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services and resources, remove barriers to independence, and promote overall well‑being.

This competition will be used to create an eligibility list that will be valid for up to 6 months and will be used to staff current and future opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver programming, case management, and targeted interventions to support client needs.
- Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date client files and records.
- Conduct intake interviews, assessments, community collateral checks, and home visits.
- Complete generalized and specialized risk assessments to determine appropriate risk-need-responsivity interventions.
- Provide planning, assessment, counseling, and referral services to individuals and families.
- Screen, identify, and prioritize service referrals; develop intervention plans and consult with professionals as needed.
- Document all actions and decisions in alignment with professional standards of practice.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:
To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW/CASW or CASWE; OR a Human Service Degree plus relevant related experience; OR a Social Work Certificate plus relevant related experience. All out-of-country education must be assessed as accredited for Canadian equivalency.
Human Service Degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and/or Psychology, Education, Human Justice, or Indigenous Studies or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing plus relevant related work experience.
Successful candidates must be legally eligible to operate a vehicle in Saskatchewan and you must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kg. You will be required to travel, work flexible hours that may include evenings or weekends, and transport children (or parents).
