    The Opportunity:

    The Courts and Community Justice Division is seeking a skilled, ethical, confident individual to supervise a team of administrative staff in the Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench  and provide comprehensive administrative support for the Local Registrar’s Office. As a member of a team of professionals you will be in daily contact with the public, lawyers, police agencies, community agencies and offenders.

    You must demonstrate good character in order to maintain the integrity of the justice system and the people it serves and ensure confidentiality within and outside of the place of work in accordance with your Oath of Office.     Responsibilities

    • Recruit, onboard, train and manage performance of administrative staff, including work planning, attendance management, coaching and address performance issues.
    • Monitor daily workflow of administrative staff and assigns duties to meet daily deadlines.
    • Assess work methods and procedures, including recommending and implementing changes for improved efficiency.
    • Deliver timely and accurate client service to the public, lawyers, police agencies, etc. in order to maintain the integrity of the Justice system and the people it serves.

    • Handle walk-in and telephone inquiries regarding court dockets and dispositions, explaining applicable policies and procedures, Acts and Regulations.
    • Collect, record, reconcile, verify payments received and safeguard cash in accordance with established financial policies.
    • Creates and maintains a culture of excellence that is diverse, safe and respectful.

    Technical Knowledge and Skills: 

    • A post-secondary diploma in office education supplemented with legal courses, and experience in a court/legal environment and supervisory experience or a combination of education and work experience.
    • Knowledge of the justice system, legal terminology; the administration of legal documents and an understanding of Acts, Regulations, policies, protocols, and procedures as they apply to the Court of King’s Bench.
    • Knowledge of human resource practices such as staffing, onboarding, performance improvement, occupational health and safety, etc.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles including cash handling, daily reconciliation and bank deposits.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Guide and coach a diverse group of employees
    • Self-motivated and organized to meet multiple demands and high volumes of work.
