The Opportunity:
The Ministry of Trade and Export Development is looking for an energetic, well-organized individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to fill the position of International Relations Officer. As a key member of the International Relations Branch, you will join a team dedicated to advancing Saskatchewan’s diplomatic relationships in key markets around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Diplomatic Affairs and Strategic Engagement, the International Relations Officer will be responsible for:
- Prioritizing and developing recommendations for diplomatic visits to the province;
- Developing programming aligned with Saskatchewan's priorities and the incoming delegation's interests;
- Coordinating with government and public stakeholders to implement diplomatic programs, including ensuring appropriate briefing materials are provided;
- Providing logistical support for incoming diplomatic and outgoing missions, along with other initiatives and events;
- Providing on-the-ground support for delegations during official visits;
- Drafting correspondence and other documents as required;
- Managing the ministry's gift bank and
- Working as part of a team and as an independent member of the branch in a fast-paced work environment with tight timelines.
Note that this position occasionally requires travel within the province.
