    Two 24-month Term Full-time Positions: To Start As Soon As Possible

    The Ministry of Social Services, Disability Programs, is seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented individual to join the Program and Operational Supports (PrOS) Programs team. PrOS is dedicated to person centered service excellence, collaboration, and working together as one team. This position will be responsible for: receiving and logging high volumes of documentation; verification of information; data entry; processing payments; payment reconciliations and audits; and production of correspondence and reports.  Applicants who enjoy working with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment would find this position rewarding.

    Applicants must clearly indicate in their cover letter why they’re interested in a position with PrOS, and how they’ve acquired the skills required for this position.  Applicants selected to advance to the interview phase will be asked to complete a data entry competency exercise, and a written exercise.

    Responsibilities

    • Input, update, edit, retrieve, maintain, merge, format and transmit highly detailed information/data using a variety of hardware and software with speed and accuracy.
    • Listen, comprehend, and respond to information, directions or questions in person, in writing, or over the phone in an accurate, clear, concise and confidential manner.
    • Interact empathetically and professionally with individuals who may be angry, frustrated, difficult, rude, or have cognitive disabilities.
    • Prioritize multiple tasks taking into consideration changing priorities, interruptions, and tight deadlines.
    • Work both independently and as a team player to co-operatively accomplish program objectives and create/maintain a positive work environment.

    Technical Knowledge and Skills:  

    • Minimum of one year post-secondary training in Office Administration, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
    • Various computer hardware and software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.  Experience and proficiency in SWIN is an asset; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook experience and proficiency are required.
    • Positive and professional communication skills are essential.
