    The Opportunity:

    In this position you will:

    • Analyze applications to determine eligibility for child support calculation and recalculation services.
    • Interpret and apply legislation, regulations, and policy to complex or ambiguous situations.
    • Conduct thorough income assessments with clients and third parties while navigating complex or sensitive situations.
    • Prepare accurate child support decisions in accordance with legislation and policy.
    • Provide information and connect parents with supports or referrals.
    • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in a respectful, client-focused approach.

    Your knowledge and relevant experience of legal and court processes related to child support, investigative techniques in locating clients and verifying personal or financial information, while using known conflict resolution theories relevant to client service in challenging situations and dynamics will guide your work in complex and emotionally charged circumstances. Relevant experience in accounting principles will also be required.

    Responsibilities

    • Interpret, apply, and clearly explain legislation, guidelines, policies, and decisions to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.

    • Compile, analyze, and verify client information using investigative methods to support accurate, evidence-based determinations.

    • Conduct fact-finding interviews with clients and third parties to support income assessments and decision-making.

    • Problem-solve issues by identifying and developing options and all solutions to meet client needs and departmental goals.

    • Understand issues and sensitivities affecting families following separation and/or divorce.

    • Efficiently use computer systems and software applications.

    • Work independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing and managing competing demands to deliver high‑quality, timely services.

    • Contribute to a collaborative One Team approach within the work unit and the branch.

    Qualifications

    Technical Knowledge and Skills:

    • A completion of a two‑year certificate or diploma program; combined with relevant years of experience working with families navigating family breakdown, separation and divorce.
    • Family law proceedings, court processes and applicable Saskatchewan legislation, policy and regulations;
    • Interviewing, and investigative techniques and practices
    • Professional report writing, analysis, documentation and confidentiality standards.
    • Being able to remain calm, neutral and professional when working in conflictual or emotionally charged situations;
    • Being aware of your own biases, emotions and belief
    • Knowledge of court processes and procedures would be considered an asset.

      Other Qualifications and Requirements:

    • The successful candidate will be required to complete a satisfactory Financial Management Risk Indicator Screen as a condition of employment. This requirement is based on the position's responsibilities and access to information owned by the Canada Revenue Agency. All screenings will be conducted with consent and in compliance with applicable legislation.
