The Opportunity:
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement’s (SBP) Infrastructure Planning and Priorities Branch is recruiting one dynamic and motivated individual to join the Asset Management (AM) team as a Senior Program Engineer. The AM team administers the Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) program for public buildings in Saskatchewan including government owned facilities, health-care facilities, K-12 schools and advanced education facilities. This program assists decision-makers in planning for long-term infrastructure renewal. This role will lead the Database and Analysis team within AM that focuses on developing and maintaining the Government of Saskatchewan’s Asset Management Database, Ameresco Asset Planner, supporting users of the database, and preparing key data deliverables for all portfolios including the Facility Condition Index (FCI).
As Senior Program Engineer, the successful candidate will report to the Director of AM and lead a team of engineers. The successful candidate will have the confidence and experience to collaborate, communicate, research and problem-solve along with a team of highly motivated engineers to deliver the FCA program. Our work provides critical data and reports for the Ministry’s facility condition metrics that result in better decision-making for government spending on infrastructure.
This position will be responsible for the management of a team, interactions with the cloud-based software provider, overall database management, and other key deliverables relating to the FCA program. Required tasks for the successful applicant may include:
Team Management
Hire, train and mentor junior engineers through the Co-operative Education Program.
Database Management/Key Deliverables
You should have graduated from an accredited Engineering program to qualify for this position. The successful candidate will be registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS). Any discipline of engineering is suitable; however, preference will be given to:
Electrical or Electronics Systems Engineer.
