Create Insight. Advance Strategy. Strengthen Our Future.

This finance role provides a unique pathway for a Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Member or descendant to build the financial, strategic, and leadership capabilities necessary to grow toward an executive-level Finance position.

As the Finance Specialist, you will work directly with the VP of Finance and senior leadership to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, capital planning, budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial decision-making across Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley.

You will contribute meaningful work from day one while receiving mentorship, structured development, and progressive responsibility designed to prepare you for a future Vice President of Finance or comparable senior leadership role.

    What You’ll Do

    Strategic Finance Support

    • Assist in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting activities that guide organizational decision-making.
    • Participate in development and refinement of financial processes that support Grand Casino’s growth and long-term strategy.
    • Contribute to capital planning reviews, preparing analyses, summaries, and presentations.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts for financial systems and controls, including Workday ERP utilization.

    Budgeting + Reporting

    • Assist with departmental budget preparation, variance analysis, and trend reporting.
    • Compile data for financial reporting packages and help streamline reporting processes.
    • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles in collaboration with Finance leadership.

    Operational + Compliance Alignment

    • Work closely with accounting, procurement, compliance, and treasury to understand cross-functional financial operations.
    • Participate in assessing internal controls, compliance standards, and risk mitigation processes.
    • Learn and apply principles of GAAP, gaming compliance, and financial policies specific to the gaming industry.

    What It Takes to Shine

You’re a curious, analytical, and values-driven professional eager to grow into an executive finance role. You bring strong problem-solving abilities, an interest in financial strategy, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments. You’re motivated by both learning and contributing — and ready to invest in building a long-term career at Grand Casino.

    Growth + Support

    • Structured development plan designed for progression toward VP-level responsibilities.
    • Direct mentorship from the VP of Finance and access to senior leaders.
    • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision).
    • 401(k) with employer match, tuition reimbursement, and paid parental leave.
    • PTO, holiday pay, and recognition for birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones.

    Culture + Legacy

    • A workplace grounded in the Seven Values: Wisdom, Love, Respect, Truth, Humility, Bravery, and Honesty.
    • Opportunities to contribute to the long-term success of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and Grand Casino community.
    • A culture of creativity, collaboration, servant leadership, and shared purpose.
