Maintenance Technician
Grand Mental Health is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to assist with the maintenance, repair, and operation of multiple healthcare and administrative facilities. This position performs a variety of tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general building maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general upkeep of facility systems and grounds. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of healthcare and administrative facilities by maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial maintenance, construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related trade preferred.
- Ability to pass background screening requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for work order management and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Facilities Maintenance certifications.
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, commercial, educational, or multi-site facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform painting, carpentry, flooring, and general building repairs.
- Install and repair doors, locks, hardware, fixtures, and furnishings.
- Assist with facility renovations, remodels, and special projects.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, snow and ice removal, and exterior upkeep as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors when assigned.
- Participate in after-hours emergency response and on-call rotations as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of commercial building systems and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access mechanical spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and vehicles.
Preferred Experience
Experience in commercial facilities, healthcare facilities, schools, apartment maintenance, industrial maintenance, construction trades, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems is highly desirable.
