🚀 What’s the opportunity?

As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of The Kings Arms, working closely with the General Manager to lead the team, maintain high standards and help grow the business.

You’ll:

• Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub.
• Take ownership of shifts and confidently lead the team in the GM's absence.
• Lead, coach and develop the team, helping people grow and perform at their best.
• Deliver consistently high standards across service, food, drinks and customer experience.
• Build strong relationships with customers and create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps them coming back.
• Help drive sales and identify opportunities to grow the business.
• Make the most of the riverside garden, food offer and key seasonal trading periods.
• Ensure the pub is fully prepared for busy services and different customer occasions.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure great communication and smooth service.
• Support with rotas, stock, cash management and other operational responsibilities.
• Champion health & safety, licensing and brand standards.
• Help create a positive team culture where people feel supported, valued and motivated.
• Bring fresh ideas and energy to help develop the pub and its customer base.
• Lead by example and be someone the team can rely on.

👊 What we’re looking for

We're looking for an Assistant Manager or experienced hospitality leader who:

• Has previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader or similar.
• Has experience working in a busy pub, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment.
• Is confident leading a team and taking ownership of a shift.
• Has strong communication skills and knows how to motivate and develop people.
• Takes genuine pride in delivering excellent customer service.
• Is commercially aware and understands how great hospitality can drive sales and repeat business.
• Can stay calm, organised and hands-on when things get busy.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards across the pub.
• Is proactive, energetic and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
• Has a genuine passion for food, drinks and hospitality.
• Enjoys building relationships with customers and becoming part of the local community.
• Wants to develop their skills and progress their career with Greene King.
