We're just a short walk from the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Gardens and sit alongside the River Avon, making us a popular stop for locals and visitors exploring Salisbury.

Inside, customers can enjoy great food and drinks, live sport on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, arcade games, bar games and pool. Outside, our picturesque beer garden comes into its own during the warmer months, with a DJ every Saturday afternoon throughout summer.

Our tourist trade is a major part of the business, with regular coach parties bringing large groups of customers through the doors.

We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager who can lead from the front, keep standards high and ensure the kitchen is ready for every occasion.

🚀 What’s the opportunity?

As Kitchen Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the kitchen, leading the team and ensuring we're ready to deliver great food across a busy and varied operation.

You’ll:

• Take ownership of the kitchen and lead the team from the front.
• Lead, coach and develop the kitchen team, helping people reach their potential.
• Maintain consistently high standards across food quality, presentation and service.
• Organise the kitchen effectively and ensure the team is prepared for every service.
• Manage the kitchen confidently during busy periods and high-volume services.
• Ensure the team is prepared for coach parties and large tourist groups, maintaining consistency and pace.
• Manage stock takes, ordering, stock rotation and wastage effectively.
• Monitor food GP and kitchen costs, helping to deliver a commercially successful operation.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Ensure allergen controls and kitchen compliance are consistently followed.
• Work closely with the General Manager and wider management team to achieve the pub's food and commercial goals.
• Prepare the kitchen for busy weekends, sporting occasions and seasonal events.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth communication and service.
• Help the kitchen team deliver consistently during busy summer trading and outdoor events.
• Bring new ideas and energy to improve the kitchen operation.
• Build a positive kitchen culture where people understand what's expected and take pride in what they deliver.
• Lead by example and get stuck in when the kitchen gets busy.

This is a role where organisation, leadership and consistency really matter.

With a varied customer base and regular high-volume occasions, you'll need to be someone who can plan ahead, keep the team focused and make sure the kitchen delivers regardless of how busy it gets.

We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager / Head Chef who:

• Has proven experience managing a busy kitchen, ideally within a pub, restaurant or high-volume hospitality environment.
• Is confident taking ownership of a kitchen operation.
• Has experience leading, coaching and developing a kitchen team.
• Can organise and prioritise effectively during busy services.
• Is comfortable managing high-volume trade and large groups.
• Understands the importance of consistency, pace and quality.
• Has strong knowledge of food safety, allergens, health & safety and kitchen compliance.
• Understands stock control, ordering, stock rotation, wastage and food GP.
• Is commercially aware and understands how the kitchen contributes to the wider business.
• Takes genuine pride in delivering great-quality food.
• Is calm, organised and hands-on when the pressure is on.
• Has strong communication skills and works well with the wider management team.
• Isn't afraid to get stuck in and lead from the front.
• Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Wants to make a real impact and continue developing their career with Greene King.
