    Job Title: Federal Construction Superintendent
    Company: GSI Family of Companies
    Location: Project-Based (Federal Sites)
    The Opportunity
The GSI Family of Companies is looking for a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead high-visibility federal projects. In this role, you aren’t just a supervisor; you are the onsite engine driving project success. You will manage the intersection of technical specifications, safety compliance, and subcontractor coordination to deliver infrastructure that serves our nation.
    Core Responsibilities
    • Field Leadership: Direct and coordinate all trade groups and subcontractors to ensure execution aligns perfectly with the Statement of Work (SOW).
    • Schedule Excellence: Maintain the master project schedule through meticulous planning and the development of "3-week look-ahead" schedules.
    • Resource Coordination: Collaborate with Project Engineers on material takeoffs and ensure all equipment and supplies arrive onsite precisely when needed.
    • Federal Quality Control: Inspect work across all trades to ensure it meets GSI’s high standards and rigorous federal plans/specifications.
    • Safety Mastery: Act as the onsite safety lead, enforcing EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations to ensure every team member goes home safe every day.
    • Strategic Meetings: Lead weekly progress meetings and facilitate Quality Control (QC) preparatory meetings and inspections.
    • Project Lifecycle Support: Assist in drafting subcontract scopes, project estimates, bid packages, and budget preparations.
    Why Join the GSI Family?
Working for GSI means more than just a paycheck; it means being part of a mission-driven organization that values the person behind the hard hat.
    • Comprehensive Benefits: Competitive salary with a robust benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Commitment to Safety: We provide the training and authority you need to maintain a world-class safety culture.
    • Career Growth: As a "Family of Companies," we offer a diverse pipeline of federal projects, providing stability and professional development.
    • Supportive Culture: We bridge the gap between the field and the office, ensuring our Superintendents have the resources and tech (laptops/software) they need to succeed.
    Qualifications
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Experience: 10+ years as a Construction Superintendent, with at least 5 years leading projects of similar scale and complexity.
    • Safety Training: 5+ years of documented Construction Safety Training and a current OSHA 30-Hour certification.
    • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management applications.
    • Compliance: Valid Driver’s License with a clear abstract.
    • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
    Preferred Assets:
    • Federal Expertise: Direct experience with Department of Defense (DoD) contracting.
    • EM 385-1-1: Current certification (or the ability to obtain it within the first week of hire).
    • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
    Skills & Abilities
    • Clear Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage diverse subcontractor teams and government stakeholders.
    • Adaptability: The ability to remain flexible and find solutions in the ever-changing environment of a federal job site.
    • Detail-Oriented: A "quality-first" mindset with an eye for technical specifications and building codes.
