2027 Guardian Summer Intern, Underwriting

Our 2027 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices. This 10-week internship provides you with realistic experiences and information of what it is like to work at Guardian.

Internship Dates:

The internship program will run from Thursday, May 27, 2027- Friday, August 6, 2027.

You are:

A current junior (graduation date of May 2028) who is fueled by collaboration, able to listen and make quick decisions and thrive in a goal-oriented environment.

Required Qualifications

• A high level of comfort working with math, numbers, and detailed information

• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or demonstrated interest in business, finance, economics, risk management, insurance, or a related field

• The ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and use information to support decision-making

• A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Curiosity and willingness to learn about underwriting, financial services, and Guardian’s products and services

• A collaborative approach with the ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment

You will:

• Participate in a training program to understand the Underwriter role

• Be part of a team responsible for assessing risk and making decisions on an appropriate rate level

• Identify and communicate trends to support key financial measures

• Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional career

• Build a network of colleagues and have a sense of community with other interns and other parts of the business

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship are not available for this position.

Salary Range:

$20.00 - $35.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
