Reporting to the VP of Global Sourcing & Logistics, as the Director of Freight and Logistics , you will embrace the vision of a technology-enabled, world-class team. You will build on that vision by optimizing people, process, and technology. Your vision will include fostering a customer-centric mindset while improving freight consistency, freight competitiveness, service levels, cost visibility, and operational execution across HALO’s logistics environment.

The Director of Freight and Logistics is responsible for leading HALO’s freight and logistics strategy and day-to-day execution across domestic and international shipments. This role will help unify freight-related functions under one integrated operational leader — from estimating and pricing support through carrier management and shipment execution — with the goal of driving consistency, better economics, and a simpler experience for our clients, our sellers, and our internal employees.

This leader will oversee carrier relationships, freight processes, service performance, and cross-functional coordination with Billing, Operations, Finance, Technology, and Commercial teams.

The role

is accountable for improving freight transparency, reducing invoice surprises, strengthening logistics execution, and building a scalable operating model that supports HALO’s growth.

Responsibilities:

• Help establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of HALO’s freight and logistics function in partnership with Operations leadership.
• Lead and own the end-to-end execution of domestic and international freight operations, ensuring shipments are planned, routed, and delivered in alignment with business and client needs.
• Manage carrier, broker, and third-party logistics relationships to secure reliable service, scalable capacity, and competitive freight solutions.
• Optimize, manage, and oversee freight processes, including shipment coordination, transport charges, customs and duties, tracking, and delivery follow-through.
• Partner with Billing, Finance, Product and Technology, and Commercial teams to improve freight pricing transparency and reduce downstream billing surprises.
• Define, refine, and communicate freight best practices and documentation standards to improve order accuracy, invoicing quality, and customer experience.
• Measure team productivity and success through objective key performance indicators tied to service, cost, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Supervise workflow and performance of the freight and logistics team, both direct reports and indirect reports, providing coaching, feedback, and development support.
• Leverage data and feedback from internal and external stakeholders to continuously innovate and improve freight operations.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, carrier markets, and best practices in transportation, logistics, and distribution.
• Serve as the escalation leader for complex freight issues, service failures, and cross-functional resolution needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
