At Hancock Lumber, we call this role an Order Coordinator. This is a hands-on position responsible for pulling building materials, assembling customer orders, and building delivery loads. Working closely with sales teams, yard personnel, and drivers, Load Builders ensure customers receive accurate, complete, and well-prepared deliveries.
We're looking for dependable, safety-focused team members who enjoy physical work, take pride in accuracy, and want to play an important role in serving professional contractors and homeowners.
What You'll Do:
- Pull lumber, building materials, and related products for customer deliveries.
- Read order tickets and accurately select products, quantities, and materials.
- Assemble and organize customer orders into safe and efficient delivery loads.
- Stage completed loads for delivery drivers.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Verify order accuracy before materials leave the yard.
- Inspect materials for quality and identify shortages or discrepancies.
- Work closely with drivers, sales teams, and yard employees to ensure deliveries are complete and on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and equipment operating standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced lumberyard environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, move, and handle building materials throughout the day.
- Willingness to learn product knowledge and proper material-handling techniques.
- Positive attitude and team-first approach.
- Dependable work habits and strong attendance.
- Forklift experience is helpful but not required.
- Previous experience in building materials, warehousing, distribution, construction, manufacturing, or material handling is helpful but not required.
