Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will be a core contributor to the Java development of CargoMate, a cutting-edge port call optimization system that enables real-time cargo operation monitoring and enhances fuel efficiency and emission reduction. The engineer will work on using Spring Boot, Kotlin, and Java, building scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot

• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend/mobile applications

• Participate in architecture discussions and conduct code reviews

• Ensure application performance, security, and scalability

• Write clean, efficient code with comprehensive unit and integration testing

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, DevOps, and QA to define, design, and deliver new features

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing systems and optimize for performance

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and DevOps practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development

• Proven hands-on experience with Kotlin and Java

• Experience in Spring Boot and REST API development

• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

• Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate or JPA

• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)

• Knowledge of frontend technologies like React or React Native is a plus

• Strong command over development tools, version control systems, and testing frameworks
