Bus Driver

We are seeking to recruit a reliable, safety-focused, and experienced Bus Driver to join our People - Camp & Travel Department and support our mining operations.

Reporting to the Bus Leading Hand, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting employees between designated locations, accommodation facilities, and the mine site while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and compliance with site safety requirements.

This role will be offered as a FIFO opportunity for PNG Nationals from/to Hidden Valley Mine Site working on a 14/7-day roster.

Responsibilities

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Drive buses in a safe, professional and efficient manner at all times.
• Complete all required pre-start and operational checks.
• Report any vehicle defects, safety concerns or operational issues promptly.
• Ensure buses are refuelled and ready for the next shift.
• Attend all required daily operational meetings.
• Comply with all site and off-site safety requirements and procedures.
• Maintain radio communication with the APD Control Room at all designated call-out points.
• Attend Toolbox Meetings and actively participate in safety discussions.
• Support additional operational tasks as required, both on site and off site.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required: 

• Relevant driving experience for three (3) or more years
• Previous experiences on a mining-site experience are highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of road safety and defensive driving practices
• Minimum Education Level Grade 10 or 12
• Current PNG Driver’s License (Class 6)
• Ability to work shifts or longer hours where required
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious with good communication and interpersonal skills

The successful applicant must be a PNG Citizen, and willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check. This will include drug and alcohol testing.
