    About LidsU and The COOP

    Lids Sports Group brings sports, fashion, culture, and collegiate pride together through licensed products and memorable retail experiences. LidsU extends that expertise into campus and university retail, pairing enterprise retail capabilities with locally relevant assortments, service, and community engagement.

    This position supports The COOP retail experience serving the Harvard and MIT communities, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, members, visitors, and fans. Team members are expected to respect The COOP’s heritage and brand while helping create a consistent, modern, and locally relevant experience across its Harvard and MIT stores.

    Position Summary

    Create a welcoming campus retail experience while supporting sales, transactions, merchandising, inventory, fulfillment, and store operations. Campus Retail Associates help customers find products and services that connect them to their school, community, and The COOP.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Customer Experience

    • Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, alumni, members, visitors, and fans.
    • Learn the products, services, store layout, and campus-specific needs of the assigned Harvard or MIT location.
    • Offer informed recommendations and resolve routine questions or connect customers with the appropriate team member.
    • Support The COOP membership experience and accurately apply authorized school-, store-, or customer-specific programs, discounts, and tenders.

    Sales & Store Operations

    • Process transactions accurately and efficiently using approved payment and tender procedures.
    • Replenish, organize, price, recover, clean, and merchandise selling and back-of-house areas.
    • Support receiving, product counts, transfers, fulfillment, returns, special orders, and event setup as assigned.
    • Follow LidsU policies for safety, asset protection, customer information, inventory, and store operations.

    Campus Rhythm

    • Maintain flexible availability during orientation, semester starts, family weekends, commencement, reunions, events, holidays, and other high-volume periods.
    • Represent LidsU and The COOP professionally and respectfully within the campus community.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Retail, hospitality, bookstore, campus, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
    • Friendly, dependable, and comfortable engaging a broad range of customers.
    • Willingness to learn multiple product categories, systems, and operating procedures.
    • Basic math, communication, keyboarding, and organizational skills.
    • Must meet the minimum age and scheduling requirements established for the position and location.

    Physical Demands and Requirements

    • Ability to remain standing and move throughout the store for extended periods.
    • Ability to frequently communicate with customers, team members, and business partners.
    • Ability to operate point-of-sale, inventory, and other retail technology systems.
    • Ability to occasionally lift and move merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds and use ladders safely.
