· Apply a thorough understanding of our Client’s policies and procedures, general ledger structures, and financial statements.
· Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
· Review and approve journal entries, monthly account analysis, and audit related schedules.
· Analyze monthly financial package reports and variance explanations.
· Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine accounting transactions.
· Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
· Interface with other departments to verify report data and solve pending issues.
· Coordinate with our Client’s independent auditors and regulators on financial and other audits.
· Work with direct reports to establish performance goals and objectives, and monitor the progress to ensure the professional development of the staff in the department.
· Other projects and duties as assigned.
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Master’s degree or CPA a plus.
· Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with a large corporation, government, managed care health plan, IPA, or in a hospital setting.
· Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
· Extensive experience in all aspects of general and administrative accounting, including payroll, fixed assets, property management, cash & investments and accruals.
