    Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the Health Services model of care and principles of adult learning, in the provision of education, research, and quality client centered care for a defined group of clients and programs. The incumbent will provide visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client centered care through identified education programming. In collaboration with their Manager, the CNE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating education activities/programs. The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate. Positions will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge within designated units/programs in the Regina Qu'Apelle Health Region (RQHR).

    Experience

    • Experience with planning, implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation.
    • Experience in program/resource development
    • Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
    • Three years' experience related to the clinical area within the past five years
    • One (1) year experience in adult education

    Education

    • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

    Other Education and Training

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
    • Comparable degree in education/adult learning may be considered.

    • Knowledge in principles of adult education
    • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience into clinical practice
    • Establish and maintain good communication patterns
    • Demonstrates ability in teaching, facilitation and group activities
    • Can dev./implement/evaluate educational prog./resources incl. needs assessment
