    Job Description: Reporting directly to the Senior Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to children with speech language and swallowing disorders. The Speech Language Pathologist works together with other staff as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Speech Lanaguage Pathologist may also work independently providing assessment, treatment and consultation throughout central and northern Saskatchewan. The Speech Language Pathologist consults extensively with parents and other service providers on effective strategies in the home and other programs the child participates in. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

    Education

    • Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)

    Licenses

    • Registered Speech-Language Pathologist (RSLP)
    • Valid Class 5 driver's license

    Competencies

    • Advanced - Communication skills

    Knowledge and Abilities

    • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
    • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Ability to work with clients and their families in highly emotional situations
    • Ability to work independently

    Other Information

    • Pediatric experience is an asset
    • Experience treating children with developmental delays and disabilities an asset
    • Travel required
    • Registered/eligible with SK Assoc. of SLPs and Audiologists (SASLPA)
    • Experience working with children individually and in small groups is an asset
    • Experience working with adults in a workshop setting is an asset
    • May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives
