Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective management of the production line to ensure high-quality finished products while maintaining safety and quality standards

Accountabilities:

• Minimize production costs by utilizing employees, materials and equipment in the safest, most effective and efficient manner.

• Responsible for developing direct reports through coaching, effective communication and performance management

• Ownership and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

• Minimize accidents through organized safety program consisting of safety inspections/follow up, crew briefings, training.   Review accidents and ensure corrective actions are put in place.

• Operate within the quality management program (QMP) and HACCP as well as Good Manufacturing Practices. (GMP)

• Responsible for training new and existing employees in a changing work environment.

• Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of hourly payroll for employees and work order process in JDE system.

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.

• 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory role in a unionized environment.

• Effective communication skills

• Effective coaching skills (leadership, communication, coordination, support).

• Very good understanding of processing equipment.

• Good computer skills.

• A team leader and trainer.

• Ability to work cross functionally with others to solve problems in a team environment.

• Promote and show commitment to High Liner’s vision, values and guiding principles.

• Ability to work both day and evening shifts on a rotation in the future.
