    Community Nurse Contractor |  Manawatū Region

    Bring specialist nursing care directly to the community

    We're looking for an experienced and clinically confident Registered Nurse Contractor to join our Community Nursing team in Manawatu Region. If you're passionate about delivering person-centred care, enjoy working autonomously, and have strong wound care expertise, we'd love to hear from you.

    About the role

    As a Community Nurse Contractor, you'll provide specialist nursing services to clients across the Wellington region, delivering care in homes and community settings.

    This is an autonomous role where you'll manage your own caseload while being supported by an experienced clinical team committed to excellence in community healthcare.

    You'll be responsible for:

    • Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments
    • Developing and implementing individualised care plans
    • Delivering evidence-based wound and burn care
    • Supporting clients with catheter and continence management
    • Monitoring progress and coordinating ongoing care
    • Educating clients and whānau to support positive health outcomes
    • Collaborating closely with GPs, ACC, allied health professionals, and other healthcare providers
    • Building and maintaining strong referral relationships within your local community
    • Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and professional practice

    What you'll bring

    We're looking for someone who combines clinical expertise with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    You'll have:

    • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse practising certificate
    • Proven wound care experience (essential)
    • Experience in burn care, catheter care, and continence management
    • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
    • Experience working independently in community or district nursing settings (highly desirable)
    • Excellent organisation and time-management skills
    • Confidence building relationships with healthcare stakeholders
    • A full New Zealand driver's licence and reliable vehicle
    • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
