Responsible for supervision of the Activity program of the Haaland Estates Basic Care. This includes providing social and recreational outlets for our residents, including the development and implementation of new and innovative programs. Leads activity team to develop, implement, guide, and evaluate appropriate activities according to the resident’ interests, needs, and capabilities. Encourage residents to be as active as possible within their spiritual, emotional, and physical abilities. Supervised activity plans of care, providing education in-services for activity staff and other departments as requested. Assists interdepartmental staff when needed to assure excellence in service delivery. Follows all Standards and Values set by Haaland Estates.
· Requires a high school education or its equivalent.
· Prior experience in a nursing home setting; preferably in the activity department.
· Must be C.N.A. certified or be willing to take class and pass C.N.A. certification.
· Requires a valid North Dakota Driver’s License
· Must maintain insurability with GSHA/HE insurance carrier.
· Must be willing to take and pass Class 11 bus license and drive a passenger bus.
· Enjoy working with elderly, individuals with memory impairment and special needs.
· Requires good communication skills and ability to motivate residents.
· Requires knowledge of office tools such as copy/fax machine, use of digital camera TV- VCR-DVD player, CD player.
· Must be proficient in computer skills, to include Microsoft word, publisher and outlook.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
