Head of Integration & APIs / Practice Lead at Heirs Technologies

General Description

To own end-to-end accountability for the Integration Practice, setting practice strategy, ensuring full programme delivery across all pods, and acting as the channel of the unit’s collaborations with architecture, delivery, and commercial outcomes.

Duties / Responsibilities

1. Practice Strategy & Accountability

• Set the strategic direction and long-term roadmap for the Integration Practice, aligned to overall company strategy.

• Own full programme delivery accountability and collaboration across all pods including Executive Governance, Delivery & Governance, Architecture & Analysis, Platform & DevOps, Service Delivery.

• Chair steering committee checkpoints and act as final escalation point for cross-pod risks and blockers.

2. Governance & Center of Excellence

• Collaborate with the Joint Architecture Review Board (ARB) as the practice's Center of Excellence, ensuring architecture direction reflects overall strategy.

• Prepare and own practice-wide standards, reusable archetypes, and delivery frameworks before they are rolled out across pods.

• Track programme-level delivery health (milestones, quality gates, risk exposure) and intervene where pods are off-track.

3. Talent, Capability & Commercial Leadership

• Own hiring strategy and final sign-off for senior practice roles (Integration, Platform, Delivery).

• Build and scale the pod-based delivery model for reuse across future client engagements.

• Partner with the Engagement Director on commercial outcomes, margin protection, and client executive relationships.

Key Competencies

• 100% of programme milestones tracked with documented mitigation for at-risk items.

• Zero unresolved cross-pod escalations older than one sprint cycle.

• Practice capability (reusable archetypes, standards, hiring pipeline) demonstrably reused on at least one subsequent engagement.

Education / Experience Requirements

• 15+ years in enterprise technology delivery, with at least 5 years leading integration, API, or platform engineering practices.

• Proven experience owning full delivery (or P&L) accountability for multi-pod, multi-million-dollar technology programmes.

• Deep credibility across implementation, delivery, and commercial domains, with the gravitas to participate within governance bodies such as an Architecture Review Board.
