Job Responsibilities:
What you'll own in the first 90 days
Days 1–30 · Run the room
Take over production on two to three live events: venue, vendors, run of show, check-in, teardown.
Own the invite funnel across Luma, Partiful, LinkedIn and community groups. Hit a registration target and a show-rate target, and report both against the plan.
Build the attendee capture loop so every person who walks in ends up in the CRM with a note the BD team can act on.
Days 31–60 · Close the sponsors
Own the sponsor package end to end: build the pitch, source the target list, run the outreach, negotiate the tier, collect signing details, and track the invoice to paid.
Bring in co-hosts. We partner with AI companies on hackathons, workshops and mixers, and the co-host relationship is yours to source and run.
Get event cost to net neutral or better through sponsorship.
Days 61–90 · Make it a system
Publish the event playbook: theme calendar, target guest profile per theme, sponsor tiers with pricing, vendor list with real quotes, and the post-event follow-up sequence.
Stand up the content layer around events: founder interviews, clips, recaps and social posts that make the next event easier to fill.
Hand BD a clean list of sourced meetings with attribution back to the event that produced them.
1 to 3 years running events, field marketing, community or partnerships. Student clubs, conference volunteering and side-project meetups count if you can show the numbers.
You have personally asked a company for sponsorship money and gotten a yes. Tell us the number.
You have run an event with a real budget and real vendors: quotes, negotiation, contracts, invoices.
Clear written English. You will be writing sponsor pitches, event pages and social copy that go out under our name.
You live in San Francisco and want to be onsite. This job happens in rooms.
Comfort with the operational stack: CRM hygiene, Luma or Partiful, spreadsheets that reconcile, follow-ups that actually go out.
An existing network in the SF AI scene: founders, VC platform teams, accelerator communities, other event organizers.
Working Mandarin. Part of our team and several of our partners operate in Chinese.
Experience with paid media, performance marketing or adtech. You will be selling to marketers.
Content production chops: shooting on a phone, cutting clips, running a podcast series, growing a brand account.
You have grown a community from zero.

Hands-On Executor: 3–5 years in growth/performance marketing at a SaaS or consumer tech company.
Multi-Cap Player: Able to wear multiple hats across paid, lifecycle, and affiliate ops, stepping in where needed to keep campaigns moving fast.
Startup-Ready: Thrive in a high-growth environment, able to move at rocket speed while delivering high-quality execution.
Performance-Driven: Experience running paid campaigns with a focus on driving free → paid conversions.
Lifecycle Marketer: Skilled at campaign setup/ops, with ability to work closely with leadership on lifecycle strategy.
Affiliate Know-How: Exposure to affiliate/referral marketing platforms (Rewardful or similar).
Data-Informed: Skilled at pulling insights from GA4, Amplitude, or similar tools.
