Machinist

1st Shift schedule: 

• Monday - Thursday from 7:00AM - 3:30PM and Friday from 5:00AM - 1:30PM.
• Must be available to work overtime from 5AM - 7AM during the week and on Saturdays from 5AM - 1:30PM as needed.

Purpose of Position:  Responsible for set up and operation of production machines to provide metal parts. Must provide parts that meet engineering and quality specifications and must be delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Requires the skills to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Requires lifting, bending, squatting, walking. reaching above and below waist, and carrying rnaterials.
• Requires good eyesight to he able to read instructions, read engineering drawings, and to select proper materials.
• Requires adjusting machines to produce quality parts at proper dimensions according to engineering drawings.
• Requires working on production machines such as drills, lathes, mills, sanders, grinders, saws, and presses.
• Requires using various measuring devices such as micrometers, height gauges, etc.
• Requires performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Performs other duties as required by management.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Must have high school education or GED & Vo-Tech or Technical Institute Training.
• Must be able to operate measuring devices effectively.
• Must read and apply specs from Engineering drawings.
• Must perform calculations for dimensions effectively.
• Must pass skill based test.
