GENERAL SUMMARY:
- The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech I works as a member of the Cardiovascular Lab (CCL) team of medical professionals.
- Under the direct supervision, is responsible for assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures by performing Scrub or Monitor functions.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the CCL.
- Responsible for patient safety in the CCL and must be able to recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, operate external cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g. Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.)
- Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience preferably in Cath Lab or in Radiology and/or registry eligible.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- Licensure or Certification in degree field preferred.
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to develop and maintain a wide variety of cooperative working relationships and convey information clearly and consistently through verbal and written medium.
- Analytical ability necessary in order to determine best method of providing requested test based on the specifics of each individual case.
