    Job description

    The RN- Central Float Pool is regularly scheduled to rotate between 3 hospitals, with commitment to work every other weekend; one summer holiday; one winter holiday; two hard-to-fill dates; and two Mondays and three Fridays per 6-week schedule. Work shifts may be redeployed up to one hour prior to shift start due to changing staffing needs. The exception to the requirement to work at 3 hospitals applies to staff selecting to work at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Due to the distance between Jackson Hospital and the other hospitals in the system, employees committing to working at Jackson will only be required to work at Jackson but will be expected to float throughout the hospital and may be assigned to the level of care they were hired for, or a unit of lower acuity. The RN provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)
    • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (required)

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting for Intensive Care
    • Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse
    • Current BLS certification
    • Current ACLS certification

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
    • Proficiency in nursing process application (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
    • Ability to delegate, supervise, and document patient care
    • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
