Role Overview

As a Lead-Medical Assistant, you will provide essential support in our health care clinic by preparing patients for examination and managing various clerical duties. Under the supervision of the Office Supervisor/Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation of clinic activities, acting as a receptionist, medical assistant, or lab assistant as needed. Your role is critical in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

What You Will Do

• Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with procedures.
• Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling correspondence.
• Support the clinic¿s operations by functioning as a receptionist, medical assistant, or lab assistant as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver seamless and compassionate patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant Program, or a formal medical assistant program with a minimum of five years of continuous work experience as a Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience.
• Completion of a clinical externship.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.
• Current BLS-C certificate.
• One of the following certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA, or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a lead or supervisory role within a medical assistant setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
