The Henry Ford Medical Group’s Division of Hospice and Palliative Medicine is seeking a physician to join our team as a Senior Staff Palliative Medicine Physician at Henry Ford St. John Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to serve a diverse patient population while contributing to a large, integrated, interprofessional, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Division.
Position Highlights
- Practice at a respected academic institution with robust Graduate Medical Education programs and affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine.
- Care for a diverse patient population across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
- Pursue opportunities in program growth, medical education, quality improvement, and leadership within Henry Ford Health.
- Work with an experienced interprofessional team that includes dedicated advanced practice providers, social workers, and a chaplain.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an attending physician on the interdisciplinary inpatient Palliative Medicine Consultative Service, primarily at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, with some cross-coverage at Henry Ford Warren Hospital
- Provide care one day per week in the ambulatory palliative medicine clinic at the Van Elslander Cancer Center.
- Teach and mentor rotating medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in scholarly activities including education, quality improvement, and/or research.
- Initial board certification in a primary specialty.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
- Completion of a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated qualities of being self-directed, flexible, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.
