    Role Overview

    Registered Nurse - Float Unit - Med Surg

    Full Time 36 hours/week) w/every 3rd weekend - DayShift

    Sign-on Bonus Eligible

    As a Registered Nurse at Genesys Hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring that each patient receives individualized, high-quality treatment.     What You Will Do

    • Coordinate the development of a multidisciplinary plan of care to ensure appropriate length of stay, resource utilization, and quality outcomes.
    • Provide patient education and support, addressing fears and anxiety through effective communication and teaching.
    • Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform procedures such as dressing changes and blood glucose monitoring.
    • Monitor patient responses to interventions, recognizing and responding to acute changes in condition.
    • Collaborate with case managers to ensure seamless discharge planning and appropriate follow-up care.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
    • Two years RN experience.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:

    • Current RN license in the State of Michigan.
    • BCLS/ACLS per unit's standard.
    • Certifications appropriate for specific unit.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • 3 years of emergency department experience preferred.

    • 1 year of leadership or like experience.

    • BSN highly preferred.
